What Kinds of Wrinkles Can Be Treated with Botox?

Published on April 7, 2020

When you want to get rid of wrinkles, that are the result of facial ageing, the most important aspect to think of is the type of wrinkle you want removed. So you need to match the wrinkle with the treatment.

There are different types of wrinkles. What Botox can treat most effectively are dynamic kinds of wrinkles. Dynamic wrinkles appear due to muscle contraction – these muscles are affixed to the overlying skin. Every time your muscles contract, your skin bunches together, and this forms lines within the muscles.

Where, on the face, does this happen? Dynamic wrinkles usually form between the eyebrows, on the forehead, and on the outer eye corners – the common “feet of crows”. A great way to deal with dynamic wrinkles is to inject Botox into the targeted area of muscles, so that muscle action decreases – this lasts for a period of around 3 – 4 months.

Botox can treat wrinkles that are the result of repeated muscle movement – as dynamic wrinkles are. Forehead wrinkles can be treated with Botox too, as can those around the lip region.
