Upper Facelift Treatments in Scottsdale

Published on September 2, 2016

Are you annoyed when your children or grandchildren ask you why you look angry, tired or older than you really are? Are you afraid you will not make the best impression in a job interview because of deep brow lines or sagging eyelids? Fear not – there is a solution! An upper facelift treatment can give you a younger-looking face that will turn heads and better portray your alert and positive mood. Dr. David A. Hecht is skilled in upper facelift procedures that can improve your appearance, both with and without surgery. Three, in particular, are worth noting.

Surgical & Non-Surgical Upper Facelift Treatments

Upper facelift procedures fall into two categories: surgical and non-surgical. There is Botox, the most popular non-surgical cosmetic treatment available, and two main surgical procedures patients can choose from in our Scottsdale facial plastic surgery practice — a forehead lift (brow lift) and blepharoplasty (eye lift).

Forehead Lift (Brow Lift) Surgery

Facelifts are now the third most popular plastic surgery treatment nationwide. Among the facelift procedures that are most prized is the forehead lift. A forehead lift is designed to treat the area above the eyebrows, with results of the surgery taking years off your appearance. Many people who are concerned their forehead makes them look too serious or too sad opt for a forehead lift to soften their faces.

Modern forehead lift procedures can be performed using endoscopic surgery, which reduces your chances of scarring and requires a shorter recovery time than the more traditional, invasive forehead or brow lift that uses longer surgical incisions. In either procedure, the skin is pulled back, and the extra tissue is removed, smoothing out wrinkles and creases. No matter which procedure you choose, a full pre-op consultation with Dr. Hecht will help you select the right procedure and give you realistic expectations of the results.

Blepharoplasty (Eye Lid Lift) Surgery

Among the most common signs of aging are drooping eyelids and bags under the eyes. In some cases, these can even affect your vision. Blepharoplasty refers to upper and/or lower eyelid surgery that can help correct these problems and make your eyes look younger and less tired or angry looking.

Upper Facelift With Botox (Without Surgery)

The most well-known and medically accepted upper facelift treatment that does not involve surgery is Botox. FDA approved Botox injections relax the muscles under the skin, smoothing over creases and wrinkles, allowing the skin to achieve a more youthful appearance. When performed by a board-certified facial plastic surgeon, Botox injections are safe, effective and non-invasive. It should be noted, however, that a Botox eye lift or brow lift cannot replace surgery in every case. It is best used as a supplement to surgery or for patients who do not yet have advanced signs of aging and want to slow the progression of aging early on.
