Dr.
David Hecht
was born and raised in New York. He attended the College of
William and Mary in Virginia where he graduated summa cum laude
and was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society.
He returned to New York City and received his medical degree
at New York University School of Medicine. After medical school,
he completed internship in General Surgery and residency in
Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Georgetown University
Medical Center in Washington, D.C. During residency, Dr. Hecht
scored the highest in the nation on the annual in-service training
examination. He also completed basic science research at the
National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland. Following
residency, Dr. Hecht was selected for the highly prestigious
fellowship in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at
the University of Illinois at Chicago, where he had the privilege
of training under Drs. Dean Toriumi and Eugene Tardy — two
world renowned facial plastic surgeons. Upon the completion
of fellowship, Dr. Hecht was awarded for obtaining the highest
international score on the written board certification examination
administered by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive
Surgery. During his tenure at the University of Illinois at
Chicago, Dr. Hecht also served on the faculty as Clinical Instructor,
teaching residents and medical students. His academic accomplishments
also include numerous authored and published peer-reviewed
articles and book chapters as well as presentations at local
and international meetings. Dr. Hecht is board-certified by
both the American Board of Otolaryngology and the American
Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He and
his wife, Jennifer, moved to Phoenix in 2000 and have two children.
Dr. Hecht enjoys spending time with his family, fitness and
playing golf.
